PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Oversee all supply management activities for procured materials and service. Ensure that all inventory items are properly identifies and readily accessible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage all procurement process functions including requests for proposal, negotiation, or administration of purchase orders for materials, supplies, capital equipment, tools construction and services.
  • Submit POs as requested then monitor to see that delivery dates are on time while keeping warehouse and sales in the loop as to the progress as needed.
  • Maintain system of ordering materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain, create, and revise bill of materials.
  • Onsite supply management.
  • Process receivers and any items received by warehouse then match receiver to original PO and update SAGE accordingly.
  • Monitor and manage Low Level Report by recreating weekly. Update daily by running a detailed transaction on the previous day, add or subtract the changes to the amount reflected on Low Level, resolve any negative numbers then run Sales Orders by item report and add information to Low Level Report. Continually monitor for needed products while keeping comments up to date.
  • Preform cycle counts frequently for a different product line and adjusts SAGE or physical inventory, as necessary.
  • Update Device History Report daily by inputting into SAGE; what was created in the warehouse the day before, "build" items add production, "out" and "add-in" adjust the inventory number and disassemble puts the components back into inventory.
  • Monitor Inventory Valuation for negative numbers and the daily inventory dollar amount.
  • Monitor open POs and the dollars on open POs.
  • Update the expected delivery report weekly
  • Monitor inventory variance on general ledger daily
  • Purchase airfare and make hotel reservations for all employees as needed.
  • Check all deliveries/packages and distribute appropriately.
  • Responsible for all quarterly and annual inventories.
  • Act as a liaison with our phone company or IT service should any issue arise.
  • Keep inventory of manufacturing assets, software assets and lab assets.
  • Act as notary for Splintek.
  • Perform internal audit of quality systems annually.
  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Maintain quality control by signing off on all production and warehouse quality inspections daily.
  • Perform weekly humidity checks and update logbook accordingly.
  • Figure and maintain monthly sales forecast based on shipping output.
  • Create and maintain COGS
  • Assist AP and AR as needed.
  • Create and administer policies and procedures to ensure procurement compliance.
  • Set goals and track, analyze and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses, improve effectiveness and ensure appropriate operational decisions are made.
  • Develop and maintain standard reports to assess performance and report goals.
  • Work closely with the vendor community to maintain good relations, follow up to make certain they respond promptly to company requirements, and regularly compare and solicit providers to ensure the best terms and pricing.
  • Conduct research to identify the products of supplies that provide the best value, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of the materials and components used in the injection molding industry.
  • Manage the replenishment of inventory to insure balance with demand at the best price, lead time, and quality.
  • Evaluate bids, quotes, and POs, and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and participate in closing deals with optimal terms.
  • Monitor the quality of the product and service provided, and audit orders and deliveries to ensure the product ordered is received.
  • Work with production and shipping to improve time on delivery.
  • Perform or coordinate regular inventories or all materials. Ensure all products are properly labeled and located in their proper place.
  • Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels as determined by production schedules and product demand.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances; and initiating immediate corrective actions for budget overages.
  • Communicate regularly with management in a clear, open, complete, and timely manner.
  • Maintain personal professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies and earning certifications.
  • Adhere to GMP and fulfill all QMSM and Quality assurance responsibilities.
  • Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
PREFERRED:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Business, or related field
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing and inventory experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office programs and have strong general computer skills
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and skills
PREFERRED:
  • 2 years of Purchasing Management
  • Lean and Six Sigma education and experience
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes

Lift/Carry: Regularly lift, push, and move up to 50lbs.

Environment: Office and warehouse environments may be dust, contain sharp edges, include areas that are not well lit, the floor may be uneven or cracked, and the facility may be subject to variations in temperature.
