Action Staffing Solutions is seeking experienced and compassionate x-ray technicians to join our team.
Position Summary
An x-ray technician s duties include operating x-ray equipment and capturing high quality images of bones, soft tissues, or organs. Maintaining x-ray rooms and equipment and ensuring it is in good working order, taking inventory of supplies, adhering to guidelines on hygiene and infection control.
Travel pay up to $2,900/wk DOE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before starting x-ray procedures.
- Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs according to physicians' orders.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.
- Position patients, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility if necessary.
- Limit patients' exposure to radiation by using lead shields where needed.
- Ensure x-rays taken are of good quality to avoid repeat procedures.
- Collaborate with the resident Radiologist to determine if further tests are necessary.
- Ensure x-ray equipment is regularly serviced and in working order.
- Promptly report any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment to management
- Maintain accurate records of completed x-ray procedures.
- Completion of required training as assigned.
- Report all incidents, accidents, or potential hazards in accordance with established policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
License, Certification, Education:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
- Degree in radiologic technology.
- State licensure.
Experience: Two or more years experience.
Requirements
- Must complete the onboarding and hiring process including background investigation(s) and drug screening; Backgrounds must be clear of any felony convictions.
- Immunization Records Hep B, TB test/chest x-ray, COVID-19 and influenza for the current season.
- Language: Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language required
- Must have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to assess situations to make independent, policy compliant decisions.
Physical Requirements
Due to the nature of facilities physical demands may vary between facilities and day to day, this is not an all-inclusive list.
- Must be able to see, hear and communicate.
- Must be able to use proper body positioning and body mechanics including to
- Regularly stand, sit, walk, run, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, twist.
- Dexterity and fine motor function including strength, control, lifting, reaching and tool usage.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds infrequently, and lift or assist in lifting more than 50 pounds at times.
