The Christian Mental Health Clinician will play a pivotal role in providing compassionate and culturally sensitive mental health services within a Christian framework. This individual will be responsible for delivering therapeutic interventions, conducting assessments, and offering support to individuals seeking mental health assistance. Success in this position entails fostering a safe and nurturing environment for clients to explore their faith and address their mental health concerns.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices within a Christian counseling framework.
  2. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify clients' needs, strengths, and treatment goals.
  3. Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that integrate psychological interventions with Christian principles and values.
  4. Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health challenges or spiritual distress.
  5. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  6. Stay informed about current developments in the fields of mental health and Christian counseling through ongoing professional development and training.
  7. Collaborate with other members of the clinical team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and pastoral counselors, to provide holistic care to clients.
  8. Provide consultation and education to church leaders and congregants on mental health issues and resources within a Christian context.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health clinician (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT) in the state of practice.
  • Strong understanding of Christian theology and its application to mental health counseling.
  • Experience providing counseling or therapy in a clinical setting, preferably with a diverse clientele.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from various cultural and religious backgrounds.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in all client interactions.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping practices.
  • Willingness to integrate faith-based practices and principles into therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Continuing education or training in Christian counseling or pastoral care is a plus.
