Our client, a government Contracting company located in the heart of DTC, is seeking Collection/Cash Application Specialist! In this role, you will be a key member of the local team and will work with the accounting team at corporate Headquarters.
The Collection/Cash Application Specialist will report to the AR Manager.
You can expect to work in a diverse cultural atmosphere and create relationships at various levels of the company.

The Collection/Cash Application Specialist reports to the local General Manager and will be a key business partner with administrative duties, payment application, and other departments.

Collection/Cash Application Specialist:.

Manages payment application process to ensure payments are properly coded to customer's accounts timely.
Handles a portfolio of customer correspondence regarding payment status, invoice requests and inquiries, including researching and resolving accounts receivable issues with account managers and customers.
Issue customer credit memos, ensuring appropriate back up documentation is included and proper approvals.
Manages the collection process and ensures customers adhere to their credit limits.
Supports customer data including setting up customers properly in the system and work to keep data clean and up to date.
Reconcile customer statements.
Follow up with emails and phone calls to collect on past due accounts.

Collection/Cash Application Specialist:

2-3 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in AR
ideally previous experience in construction
Very Proficient using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
Experience with QuickBooks is a plus
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Hours for the Collection/Cash Application Specialist are Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 (with flexibility) in a business-casual environment
