Welders Supply Company ( Welders ) is looking for an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to oversee our sales team within our growing and diversified family-owned business. The Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by managing and motivating the sales team, implementing sales strategies, and ensuring the achievement of growth targets. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the sales and contract negotiation processes, and the ability to coach and develop team members.

Responsibilities Include:

Sales Management

Develop, implement, and monitor annual sales forecast including territory goals and sales objectives. Ensure improved margins where possible.

Effectively manage technical sales in the implementation and attainment of sales objectives.

Work with the GM and Co-Presidents to establish product pricing and related policies; resolve pricing issues with Technical Sales as required.

Maintain tracking of all sales related activities including leads, call reports, quotations, and customer surveys.

Oversee all sales related reporting and maintain regular reviews with sales force and GM.

Create and keep up to date CRM database of current and target customers.

Nurture and maintain harmonious relationships with company s key customer accounts.

In conjunction with Technical Sales or GM, complete key account, or target customer calls.

In conjunction with Co-Presidents, Purchasing Manager and GM, conduct key supplier negotiations and approve contract agreements.

Schedule timely and oversee customer cylinder audit procedures in conjunction with sales personnel. Approve customer adjustments and/or settlements due to audit discrepancies.

Maintain and modify equipment rental product availability, pricing, and applicable policies.

Work closely with sales and bulk installation teams to complete site-walks and scheduling of bulk installations to continue to grow our fleet of bulk vessels.

Work closely with sales personnel in collections and accounts receivable activities.

Department Management

Ensure an appropriate department staffing structure. Following hiring approval, interview and select new employees for sales job openings.

Develop and ensure completion of sales continued training, including required partner supplier training, and on-the-job development.

Prepare and monitor sales metrics for the team and individual performance metrics.

Lead regular department meetings.

Provide necessary employee evaluation of performance, counseling, and coaching. Administer disciplinary action or termination recommendations as needed.

In conjunction with GM, develop annual sales/marketing plan; create and monitor department budget.

Monitor and work with the sales team to manage contract expiration.

Must possess excellent communication skills, especially in the development of action plans and to ensure accountability and follow through.

Ability to make highly effective oral and written presentations and proposals to all levels of management.

Experience and knowledge of welding, welding equipment, and welding gases a plus.

Physical Requirements

Able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time while performing desk work and operating a computer.

Able to freely traverse company premises, lift products up to 40 pounds and move products using the appropriate equipment, support and lifting devices and procedures.

Able to bend, reach, rotate and reposition self to move materials and shift equipment.

Able to work flexible schedules, overtime, and perform duties evenings and weekends as needed.

Able to drive self to and from company and other locations and travel when needed (must have valid driver license).

Able to meet travel requirement of approximately 50% (local/regional travel).
