Location: Kansas City, MO
Educational: College Student, Graduate, or others with interest in Environmental Science, Biology, Conservation, or Fisheries.
Requirements: Experience in landscape/turf maintenance or aquatic management, including pesticides, is helpful but not required. Working knowledge of small engines, and other mechanical abilities is preferred. Working hours may vary during the week.
Requirements: Possession of a valid Driver's License, and ability to remain insurable. Ability to pass a drug screen. Ability to drive a truck and tow a boat or trailer. Candidate should be familiar with the major roadways in the area.
This candidate should be able to work independently and effectively with an assigned schedule, with consideration of changing priorities and weather conditions. Must be a self starter. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions with deadlines. Communicate and represent the company effectively. There is a lot of lifting and physical labor with this position. You may have to lift and carry up to 75 lbs for a distance. We frequently work with backpack sprayers, and walk several miles in a day outside.
Job Description: We manage and maintain ponds and lakes in the greater Kansas City Metro area.
Example tasks:
Inspect bodies of water to identify plant species and determine control measures.
Mix chemicals and apply aquatic herbicides and algaecides.
Operate and clean small engines and spray equipment.
Install and troubleshoot fountains and aeration equipment.
Operate boats, by rowing or motor.
Keep accurate records using iPads, phone, and/or PC.
Perform duties related to lake mapping, fish stocking, or planting.
Attend trade shows and conferences.
Salary: Compensation will be based on education, experience, and any certifications. Pay is hourly. No weekends or holiday work. This is a full time position.
