Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative Specialist is the primary liaison between the
non-profit and its founder.
For the non-profit: The Administrative Specialist plays an important forward-facing role for the organization.
In addition to answering the organization s main phone line and either directing calls to team members or
answering questions, the Administrative Specialist will represent the organization by making proactive
communications by phone, written documents, and email. The individual in this position will also act as
the liaison between the Development Team and founder to coordinate weekly donor
correspondence. In addition, to the extent possible and appropriate, the Executive Director will assign
projects that fall within the Administrative Specialist s skill set and areas of interest.
In addition, reporting directly to two senior executives, the Assistant provides daily administrative
and scheduling support. The Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external contacts on all matters pertaining to the
senior leaders. The Assistant must be responsive, detail oriented, proactive, and creative, and
enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal individual will have the ability to
exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication,
administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance while managing
multiple priorities. The Assistant has the ability to work independently on projects, from
conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times, including after hours and
weekends, if necessary, to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
Because it is necessary, occasionally, to work a few hours or on weekends, the Assistant will be able to
flex their time to maintain an appropriate work life balance.
MUST HAVES: proven administrative skills, excellent communication skills and solid writing skills.
Monday-Friday, 8-4:30. Occassional weekend obligations (2-3 times per year).
This position is temp to hire. Salary range: $50-55k.
