Job Description:

The Surface Landman will specialize in Greenlake Energy s Permian Basin-based operations, which currently has an asset base in the Delaware Basin, with expectations for future Midland Basin assets. The position is within the land team and is responsible for surface, water, and electrical operation planning and execution plus company voluntary responsibilities.


General Responsibilities:

  • Work with various cross functional teams regarding well planning and operations, specifically for all surface related items but with overall operational plans in mind.
  • Negotiate and draft any necessary Surface Use Agreements or similar contracts.
  • First point of contact from Greenlake to surface owners.
  • Coordinate with attorneys for contract drafting provisions.
  • Work with vendors on due diligence, ordering jobs, etc.
  • Procure caliche, fresh water, produced water, electrical, ROWs and any other surface related needs.
  • Manage survey crews regarding well staking, electric line & flowlines routes, well plats, etc. and collaborate with Regulatory on the drafting of plats for submitting drill permits and as-drilled plats.
  • Design and oversee well pad/pits construction, cellar, rathole, conductors and other operations on surface with the feedback from the Operational team.
  • Plan poly and layflat routes for operations and manage lay down, maintenance and pick up of lines including inventory management of company owned materials.
  • Ensures internal maps and GIS system are updated with all current surface assets and contract rights.


Specific duties or knowledge base to include:

  • Represents Greenlake in a professional manner.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with variable dependencies and changing deadlines.
  • Holds external parties responsible for onsite planned build outs aligning with as built locations and amends or renegotiations as necessary.
  • Must know how to draft or have drafted by counsel the necessary agreements.
  • Stays up to date with laws, changing market rates, or anything else that relates to role
  • Good verbal and written communication.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in land or field operation activities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Proficiency in Google Earth, Microsoft Office applications and similar digital tools
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent employment experience preferred.


Position Location:

Applicant may reside in Pecos, Texas or immediate vicinity, Midland, Texas or immediate vicinity, with strong preference for proximity to Greenlake operations. Relocation may be considered.
