As we expand into the energy sector, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Officer to drive our growth in the oil, gas, and biofuel markets across the United States.


Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer will lead our expansion into the energy sector, focusing on ethanol, biodiesel, and sustainable aviation fuel industries. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and customizing our chain-of-custody solutions to meet the unique needs of the energy market.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the oil, gas, and biofuel markets across the Plains and Midwest regions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the energy industry, including processors, distributors, and end-users.
  • Leverage knowledge of GHG accounting practices to assist processing facilities in understanding and reducing their carbon footprint, aligning with sustainability goals.
  • Develop tailored proposals that meet the specific needs of clients, emphasizing the value of digitizing manual processes, supply chain traceability, and proactive management of sourcing practices.
  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop targeted campaigns and products that resonate with the agribusiness market.
  • Build personal brand as a thought leader by speaking at conferences, participating in industry roundtables and workshops, seeking opportunities to be featured on industry podcasts, and publishing insightful blog posts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in sustainability practices to maintain a competitive edge.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Energy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, preferably within the agribusiness sector.
  • Strong understanding of the agriculture industry, especially in corn, ethanol, soy, and biofuels.
  • Expert knowledge of GHG accounting methods and sustainability practices at agricultural processing facilities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and persuade high-level decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the United States and Canada to engage with clients and attend industry events.
