Production Supervisor - Medical Device


Job Details

Duties:

  • Supervises manufacturing and service of medical systems by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the production and service process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Oversees execution of production plan based on existing sales orders by creating and transacting work orders, scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Supervises service and repair of medical systems returns according to established performance targets; collaborates with Quality and Engineering on failure analysis; communicates with customers on repair status.
  • Writes or assists in the development and review of internal or external manufacturing or service documentation, test plans and test procedures.
  • Manages manufacturing and service material inventory, planning and ordering.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of production experience with medical devices, components and assembling of clinical prototypes. 3 plus years over supervisory skills.
  • Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Process Improvement, Tracking Budget Expenses, Production Planning, Controls and Instrumentation
  • Proficient in light manufacturing and assembly equipment such as PCB soldering stations, wire cutters/strippers, etc.
  • Optical assembly, alignment experience is preferred

Education requirements

  • Minimum Requirements: High School diploma. Associates of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22C.F.R. 120.15 are required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee. License exception Technology and software under restriction (TSR) defined in 15 CFR 740.6 may permit person from Country Group B.
