Inventory Control Specialist


Job Details

The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory through regular cycle counts, spot checks and following process for annual inventory, investigating and monitoring issues as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Tracks issues and identifies trends in physical inventory.

Coordinates with commodity and hardware buyers to perform spot checks, complete or correct receiving.

Reviews open and closed orders to verify invoicing is complete and accurate.

Organizes and tracks special order inventory, conducts spot checks and routine full cycle counts.

Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.

Verifies that inventory receipts and supplier returns are being done accurately and in a timely manner.

Conducts frequent spot checks and cycle counts of physical inventory, according to schedule or by request.

Follows process for prep and execution of annual inventory, working on new process as necessary or directed.

Operates forklift truck when necessary.

Performs other related duties as requested.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.

Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.

Proficient with Outlook, Excel and Word.

Experience with Bistrack.

Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.

Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.

Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience with computerized inventory systems required.

Forklift operator certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times.

Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
