Location:Sterling, VAWhat You ll Get to Do:As the Systems Administrator you ll work with the team using agile development methodologies to support the development environment for a common software baseline delivered to multiple customers.
As someone who thinks outside the box, you ll enjoy designing and implementing solutions to interesting engineering problems involving both traditional System Administration as well as DevOps. You will help find ways to make automation do the heavy lifting of DevOps. Your experience with the Linux operating system, bash shell, and scripting in languages such as Python will be indispensable assets.
More About this Role:We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join a technically diverse team that develops and supports infrastructure for software based signal processing applications.
The successful candidate will provide hands on support to implement baseline changes, maintain DevOps pipelines to ensure timely delivery of software on customer schedules, troubleshoot supported software applications and equipment, create and maintain required documentation, install and setup servers and workstations, and will interface with internal teams as well as external customer support organizations.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on a diverse team are critical.
Must have good organizational skills and be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:Maintaining the DevOps environment to ensure software deliveryMaintaining operating system baselines utilizing configuration management tools and ensuring compliance with corporate and government security standardsEnsuring secure configuration of systems with PuppetLinux scripting (bash, python, perl, etc)Configuring Linux workstations and serversDiagnosing hardware failures, repairing failed equipmentInterfacing with external customers on issues, diagnosing and fixing customer problemsDeploying operating system level patches to factory systemsFamiliarity with security requirements for classified environmentsAble to setup and move workstations and other equipmentOther system administrative and documentation duties, as needed
Required qualifications:Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fieldsLinux (Red Hat) System Administration experienceNetwork familiarity (CISCO)
Desired qualifications:Experience with scriptingDoD 8570.1 certification (Security+ or better)Experience with RPM management (Spacewalk)Experience with Continuous Integration environmentsExperience with configuration management tools (Git)
