THE POSITIONIn the Compliance Manager position you will have oversight of the compliance activities of an assigned portfolio to ensure the properties are compliant with tax credit, HUD, and other housing program regulations. In this role you will provide compliance technical support along with training and guidance to compliance and property management staff.What You Can Expect To DoOversight of compliance activities of remote property and management compliance teamsTravel to properties is required, as needed (potentially 25%-50%)Support our property management teams when they have questions regarding compliance programs or procedures and assist with tax credit reporting

compliance issuesPrepare and monitor activities for State, Agency, Lender, Partner audits/inspectionsReview and track compliance requirements for HUD, Tax Credit and other programs; first year lease up files for Acquisition-Rehab and New Construction, in partnership with third-party vendors. Certifications for 1st year recertificationsTrack & process annual OCAF adjustment paperworkComplete 8703 Forms, Quarterly Bond Reports, and Annual Lender Reports for signatureStay current with all federal and applicable state regulations for the LITCH, HUD, RD and HOME affordable housing programs as they relate to filesFacilitate the completion of Welfare Tax ExemptionsEnsure compliance documents are filed accordinglyFacilitate account reconciliation between third party vendors and property management companiesProvide regular updates on the activities and status of compliance throughout assigned portfolio; establish reporting requirements and track key data accordinglyProvide administrative support to the rest of the compliance team when neededMaintain compliance policy and procedures manual and update as neededWhat You Should Have5+ years of experience managing compliance for a diverse portfolio of propertiesExperience managing compliance for 1200+ units; and experience working in multiple states with diverse subsidy programs; both state and federalWorking knowledge of program and regulatory requirements- experience with Acquisition/Rehab, HUD-TC blended sites; pre and post 8609 processesBachelor s Degree preferred or proven history of relevant experienceCOS Designation (Certified Occupancy Specialist) or equivalent (BOS is a plus)Tremendous organizational skills and the ability to advance several processes simultaneouslyExcellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and analytical skillsExperience with multiple software systems- compliance, project managementProficiency in Microsoft suite; Excel, Word, PowerPointStrong work ethic, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgencyDesire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentAbility to take ownership and commitment to follow throughWillingness to travel 25-50% of the timeWhat You Should BeHighly accountable; you take ownership, follow-through, meet deadlines, and care about the quality of your work productCurious, ambitious, and thoughtful; a problem solver by natureA highly motivated person who values hard workWell-rounded real estate finance professional: this role will work with legal, construction, asset management, and compliance disciplines on a day-to-day basisAn independent self-starter; you don t wait around too long looking for directions from othersA person who doesn t get flustered under pressure or deadlinesA world-class communicatorAble to work collaboratively in a small team environment; willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in when and where necessaryReady to work in a fast-paced environment and be part of an amazing team doing valuable workTHE COMPANYStandard Communities is a leading affordable and middle-income housing owner, investor, and developer.
