Join our dedicated team as a Patient Service Representative, where your primary role will be to enhance patient care by expertly managing scheduling through answering phone calls. In this vital position, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a key role in their healthcare experience by efficiently scheduling appointments and providing necessary information.
We are looking for individuals who are not only passionate about delivering exceptional patient service but also possess a keen eye for detail and organization. Prior experience with Epic for documentation and Cisco for handling phone is preferred (but not required) as these tools are integral to our operations. If you have a knack for communication, a desire to make a difference in people's lives, and the skills to navigate these systems, we would love to hear from you.
salary: $20 - $21 per hour

Responsibilities
- Schedule outpatient clinic appointments for patients using the hospitals scheduling system
- Mail informational material to new patients prior to scheduled appointments
- Utilize the online billing system to enter diagnosis/service codes from encounter sheets
- Organize medical records for use by physicians and nurses, including appropriate lab tests and x-rays
- Act as an outpatient center receptionist - make phone calls to patients, answer incoming calls, greet patients and verify information, direct patients to specific areas
- Complete pre-registration and registration processes, verifying demographic data and insurance authorization information
- Collect co-payments and confirm patient eligibility with insurance carriers
