Job Description
Vertiv, in Anderson, SC, is looking for a Buyer to purchase commodities for America business demand requirements in coordination with Americas Commodity teams and Operations Materials teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Tactical creation and issuance of purchase orders to approved suppliers based on ERP system demand.
Maintains accurate purchase order information and delivery dates in MRP system.
Expedite material as needed to support production needs driven by customer demand; defer material deliveries as appropriate to support inventory optimization plan.
Supports internal customer i.e., Material Manager/Planner to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Reconcile / resolve invoice discrepancies and route next steps to appropriate functional group.
Coordinate information between suppliers, Materials & Commodity Management; provide material availability, pricing, and shipping information.
Adheres to spot buy and freight cost management processes to minimize total cost to the business
Investigate multiple options for and negotiate favorable pricing/terms on spot buys.
Create / maintain purchase order lines for surcharges due to tariffs, freight, expediting.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Associates degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred
1-3 year(s) of experience in related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent organizational, analytical thinking and multi-tasking skills
Detail-oriented and ability to thrive is a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong understanding of cost management best practices
Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with leaders
Proficient using ERP systems e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
Associates degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred
