Job Details
Overview:
Responsible for dispatching company and third party trucking as well as fielding calls from customers.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate freight movements.
- Dispatch and assign drivers for customers in VA locations utilizing OTM.
- Provide quality customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Effectively communicate with yard managers to access their transportation/dispatch needs.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelors Degree/Associates Degree in Transportation Management or related field and/or minimum three years of experience in dispatch.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with other departments and all levels of employees.
- Must represent the company at all times in a positive and professional manner to enhance the companys image with employees, leadership and the public.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate effective time management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations.
- Ability to make quick decisions in an ever changing fast paced work environment.
Preferred
- Dispatch experience preferred, but not required.
- CDL or previous driving experience is preferred, but not required.
- OTM experience is preferred, but not required.
