**About the role**
Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant to join our team to work across the West Midlands.
**Role Purpose:**
To manage daily procurement requests from the delivery teams through the Projects ERP system, identifying suppliers, obtaining and negotiating the best offers, and placing the corresponding Purchase Orders. To follow-up deliveries, assessing indicators. To support the strategic approach of BBV and to deliver Project objectives as set by the Procurement Lead.
**What you'll be doing**
To support the Project Delivery Team in managing their daily procurement requisitions. Tasks will include, but not be limited to, the following:
* Processing of Material and Plant requisitions
* Identifying relevant suppliers according to items required
* Obtaining, negotiating and evaluating offers from suppliers to drive best value (<24h)
* Converting requisitions into formal purchase orders, chasing and tracking approvals, and finally sending approved POs to suppliers/stakeholders.
* Monitoring confirmed delivery dates, chasing suppliers to ensure contractual agreements are met.
* Communicating efficiently and collaboratively with stakeholders: suppliers, requisitioners, cost control, finance etc. to ensure requisitions are processed in a timely manner.
* Managing bulk call off orders, making amendments where required.
* To run and assess KPIs:
+ of requisitions received/processed per day
+ Time taken converting requisitions into POs (days), reporting any reasons for delays and rejections
+ Suppliers performance against contractual delivery dates (%)
* Demonstrating the BBV behaviours and those of the wider Integrated Project Team.
Adhering to procurement processes and procedures.
**Who we're looking for**
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Substantial daily procurement experience within a construction related environment.
* Experience of projects with sub-contractors and suppliers.
* Proven track record managing supplier relationships, negotiation, process compliance and supplier integration into project teams.
* Excellent administrative skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to ensure best value procurement.
* Focused on obtaining and providing the most accurate information, being reactive and able to work under pressure.
* An ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance
