We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our New York based clients "Engineering and construction firm" and contribute to their projects.

Job Description:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of our construction projects. You will be responsible for leading engineering efforts, managing project teams, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards. You will also provide technical expertise, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and project team members to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the engineering efforts for construction projects, including planning, design, execution, and completion, while ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
  2. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to establish project goals, objectives, and scope, and ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Provide technical expertise and engineering support in areas such as construction methods, materials selection, structural design, geotechnical engineering, and construction technology to ensure successful project delivery.
  4. Develop and review engineering designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, and ensure that they are accurate, complete, and in compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
  5. Manage project risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively to minimize project delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.
  6. Monitor project progress, schedule, and budget, and provide regular updates and reports to project stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and other relevant parties.
  7. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and project team members, including reviewing their work, providing feedback, and fostering their professional development.
  8. Collaborate with construction contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that construction activities are performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  9. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in construction engineering, and apply them to enhance project delivery processes and outcomes.
Job Requirements

Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  2. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the state of New York or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
  3. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in construction engineering, with a focus on complex infrastructure or transportation projects.
  4. Strong technical expertise in engineering principles, construction methods, materials, and standards.
  5. Proven experience in managing construction projects, including developing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources, and ensuring successful project delivery.
  6. Proficient in using engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and other relevant design and analysis software.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and project team members.
  8. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, guide, and supervise junior engineers and project team members.
  9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Knowledge of local codes, regulations, and standards applicable to construction projects in New York.
