To support our members, the Food and Product Safety team provides tools and resources for FMI members to stay current on food safety issues. Food safety training remains a top priority for members and is just one example of our services available to member companies.

The Senior Manager of Food Safety Training will manage and promote the SafeMark Training Program which is the only food safety training program created by and for food retailers. A strong leader who is self-motivated and organized will manage a comprehensive food safety training program for retail associates. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Managing all program activities including contract management, content updates, publication sales management, managing the program s trademark status and working with business partners, consultants, customers and outside printers;
  • Partnering with the Communications and Marketing teams to market and promote SafeMark training to FMI members and the retail industry;
  • Serving as the Editorial Assistant for the SafeMark publication; and,
  • Managing accounting and budget services for the SafeMark program.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A college degree with five to seven years of relevant experience and an understanding of food safety training and/or certification programs, or other adult learning programs.
  • Previous experience managing training, certification, and other food safety programs and/or other adult learning programs.
  • Knowledge of the principles of adult learning and computer-based training programs and platforms.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to travel 5-10% domestically for business conferences and events.
