About the Job

To provide pro-active and effective legal support to the business and operations activities of Technip Energies Business Line T.EN X - Consulting & Products in the Americas and of Genesis, a wholly owned Technip Energies company in Houston in particular.

The Legal Counsel should:

  • Have excellent drafting and analytical skills.
  • Be at ease (and should have previous experience) with contractual and commercial negotiations with clients and other relevant stakeholders, for supporting / leading negotiations.
  • Be able to independently prepare, review and interpret legal documents.
  • Provide interpretation and analysis of contracts and other documents.
  • Be able to cover tender reviews, contracts qualifications / deviations, risk assessment & mitigation plan of contracts; preparation and negotiations of partnership agreements (e.g. JVs and Consortia), labor / employment and other applicable laws.
  • Provide Company Secretarial Support to Company Secretary.
  • Be able to manage and assist with litigations, charges, claims, employment and labor related matters as necessary individually and with outside legal counsel.
  • Be able to draft, vet, negotiate of contractual conditions and specifications of consulting contracts in Infrastructure, Energy transition / Oil & Gas tender documents, various Joint Venture/ consortium agreements, MOUs, NDA s and other related documents.
  • Provide support, to other relevant functions of the company: Finance, Tax, Insurance, HR, Administration, Compliance, Claim management, Dispute Resolution and Litigation matters.
  • Support on miscellaneous legal issues as may be brought to an in-house counsel.
  • Support Technip Energies by (but not limited to) delivering training, communicating lessons learned, supporting risk mapping efforts, operational reviews and provision of compliance related performance data and participating as investigation team lead or member.
  • Be responsible for the T.EN X Consulting & Products and Genesis Houston teams compliance to laws and regulations in accordance with Technip Energies compliance program and support the corporate compliance team in all compliance related matters.

About You

We d love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:


Must Have

  • Law Degree from reputed university
  • 5 - 8 years of similar legal experience in Oil & Gas/Renewable Energy service industry
  • Strong written (including contract/legal drafting) and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work effectively with people across a wide range of levels and responsibilities


Good to have

  • Experience in Contract Management
  • Experience with NEC/FIDIC or similar term
