Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIESSet up and operate CNC turning centers and/or machining centers, select proper feeds, speeds and tooling, determine clamping methods and make machine adjustments with limited use of fixtures.
Read and interpret work order routings, prints, sketches, and tool sheets, as required. Maintain tolerances per drawing requirements.
Inspect work using micrometer, bore gage, Vernier calipers, or other measuring precision instruments. This may include micrometers up to 25".
Make average mathematical calculations and resolve elementary technical problems.
Perform duties in accordance with company safety policies, reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Make proper labor and time report entries.
Keep machine(s) / work area clean and orderly.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONSRequires a High School diploma and basic numerical controlled machining center knowledge and/or turning center experience. Experience as a manual machinist is a plus.
US Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the US is required
Requires the ability to read and interpret work related machine drawings, the ability to understand and follow tool path within a program, and follow written and verbal procedures as assigned. Must be able to recognize and understand machine functions as required.
Requires experience in working with a variety of materials (metals) and the ability to use preset tools.
Mechanical aptitude, detail orientated, quality and safety minded are also required.
