Duties:
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal according to specifications
- Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
- Perform typical laser cutting operations.
- Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures.
- Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
- Make proper set-ups for cutting operations.
- Perform prescribed maintenance as required.
- Perform all-dimensional inspections.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
- May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of tooling
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers
- Familiarity with welding processes is a plus
- Experience operating cranes or other lifting equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of CNC operations is preferred
