Fitness Specialist


Job Details

Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center. This position is an on-site position located in Atlanta, GA.


The pay rate for this position is $19.23/hour. The work week is Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 work hours a week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach group fitness classes
  • Conduct personal training sessions
  • Supervise exercise areas
  • Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
  • Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
  • Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
  • Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
  • Explain all equipment
  • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
  • Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
  • Adhere to client s policies and procedures
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
  • Perform daily administrative duties


Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field or an active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NCCPT, or NSCA)
  • Active CPR certification
  • 0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
