Position: Engineer (ICT Systems Operations, Administration, and Maintenance)

We're looking for a skilled Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of our network infrastructure, providing exceptional support to our users and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned work orders, maintaining SLA targets with local interventions as directed.
  • Provide superior customer service, employing effective communication techniques.
  • Install and configure Desktop Services and serve as the initial point of contact for network users.
  • Act as the Incident Manager, overseeing corrective actions for network incidents.
  • Perform advanced analysis and troubleshooting of Desktop Services to support incident management.
  • Conduct testing and evaluation of supported hardware and software.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to determine support requirements for new features or applications.
  • Prepare activity reports and recommendations for upper management review.
  • Direct the creation of documentation critical to network usage and stability.
  • Ensure Service Desk personnel are properly trained.
  • Perform Incident Support Request lifecycle services affecting end-users.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance the customer experience.
  • Support Problem Management by performing corrective actions under the Section Head's direction.
  • Contribute to recommendations for Continued Service Improvement and procurement processes.


Requirements:

  • Higher Secondary education with completed higher vocational training in information systems engineering or related discipline, or Secondary education with completed advanced vocational training in the same discipline.
  • Formal technical or professional certification with 2 years of function-related experience, or professional qualification or accreditation with 3 years of post-related experience.
  • At least 3 years of recent practical experience within a CIS Service Operations environment.
  • At least 1 year of recent practical experience in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting industry-standard desktop Windows Operating Systems.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience in PC Hardware Systems, with a good understanding of Intel x64 bit systems configuration and performance monitoring.
  • Good working knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols and Standards, and experience with Office Automation Solutions.


Desired Skills:

  • Formal qualification in PC hardware repair and configuration.
  • Formal training in LAN and PAN computer operations.
  • Knowledge of NATO CIS policy, procedures, and organization.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with ITU-T standards and recommendations.
  • Practical experience in diagnosing deficiencies in networks and associated equipment.
  • Experience in working in a Service desk environment.
  • Prior experience in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.
