Job Description

  • Manages day-to-day functions of the youth staff.
  • Delegates work and authority and assigns priorities and scheduling to meet planned objectives.
  • Ensures workshop rooms and common area remain uncluttered and professional in appearance.
  • Coordinates regular ongoing meetings with Youth Director and staff.
  • Processes Summer Work Experience payroll
  • Collects timesheets and enters payroll information for summer staff and participants.
  • Maintains information about area resources and employers.
  • Plans and organizes youth center activities.
  • Maintains scheduled, periodic contact with staff regarding participant activity and services in a variety of locations to assess job retention/advancement issues.
  • Sends out correspondence to schedule appointments, requests employment verifications, and acquires pay stubs when applicable.
  • Assumes central responsibility for participants achieving self-sufficiency by monitoring progress throughout the program cycle, beginning with referral and continuing through retention and advancement efforts.
  • Provides the clerical functions and administrative duties in the office.
  • Answers the phone and takes messages for all employees.
  • Maintains petty cash and disperses funds when necessary.
  • Conducts phone screening for potential summer employment candidates.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and distributes incoming mail.
  • Purchases and maintains inventory of office supplies.
  • Prepares, organizes and maintains staff files.
  • Submits internal and customer reports as required and process incoming mail and referrals.
  • Facilitates staffing-services.
  • prepares and conducts staff performance reviews.
  • Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
  • Must be able to market JOB1 Business and Career Solutions Center and explain the mission to the general public.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with and among, all personnel.
  • Must support the mission of Equus Workforce Solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work occasionally long or extended hours, including weekends.
  • Must be able to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of all information housed in the division.


Qualifications
  • B.S. /B.A. in social services or related field, a minimum two (2) years working with targeted population required. Experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • Must pass State criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass DMV check and be insurable through the Company's automotive liability carrier. Must provide own transportation and maintain proper vehicle registration, vehicle inspection and insurance.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned.
