Accountant

Temporary Position Overview:



We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant (Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferably) to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience in municipal accounting, financial statements, audit procedures, and general ledger management. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.



Responsibilities:

Balance financial records and verify accuracy.

Conduct audits on individual accounts randomly or as scheduled.

Check for major financial issues and discrepancies.

Prepare and publish audited financial statements.

Collaborate with leadership to establish budgets.

Provide recommendations regarding budgets and other financial decisions.

Assist with external company audits.

Qualifications:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (current or in progress).

3 to 15 years of public accounting experience.

Knowledge of GAAP and GASB (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards Board).

Familiarity with municipal financial software applications

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize effectively.

Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Willingness to work as a team player.

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with experience, ranging from $30 to $45 per hour.
