For more information, visit reedsmith.com.Position SummaryThis role supports the firm s global Energy & Natural Resources (ENR) industry group, with a primary focus across its US practice, to drive its business development and marketing efforts. Our ENR group consists of more than 130 attorneys (with many other lawyers involved in the sector assigned to other practice groups), providing an exceptional global platform for businesses engaged in the extraction, production, distribution, and trading of ENR products and services or the financing of energy and natural resources projects, anywhere in the world.The Business Development (BD) Cooridnator will handle marketing administrative tasks, assist with pitches and proposals, bio updates, the coordination of events, webinars, sponsorships, social media promotion, and other external and internal communications. They will coordinate requests for client/prospect research, business intelligence, and graphic design from relevant teams, and significantly support the BD responsibilities associated with firm awards submissions such as Chambers and Legal 500.The successful candidate will work largely autonomously in terms of the day-to-day business of ENR marketing and business development, but also collaboratively with the business development professionals supporting the ENR Group globally (or in other industry groups and regions), to ensure that all ENR marketing is coordinated across the firm s global platform. The position sits within a growing, creative and energetic firm-wide marketing team of professionals.Essential FunctionsDevelop and maintain well-rounded understanding of Energy & Natural Resources (ENR) lawyers and ENR-related sub-practice areas (e.g., oil & gas, renewables, energy regulatory, commodities, environmental, health & safety, etc.).Support the ENR Business Development Team in various projects as they relate to business development efforts associated with the ENR Group. This includes tracking and reporting on different business development activities, edit marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions and attorney biographies for print, website and intranet; facilitate posting updates to firm website and intranet as required.Collect and maintain attorney experience and client information in Firmwide experience databases and client relationship management (CRM) system.Assist with pitch materials, presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs); assist attorneys with presentation preparation by assisting with creating and editing materials, and be instrumental in delivering a strong first version document for the partners.Work with the ENR group and related practice teams/task forces to help prepare and edit drafts of various industry survey and directory submissions, plus maintain repositories of information on practice group accolades and awards.Assist in coordination of Reed Smith s participation in, and sponsorship of, local and national conferences. Responsibilities would include coordinating and submitting advertisements, giveaways, logos, coordintating check requests, and other materials as needed for sponsorships and other external activities.Assist in coordinating Reed Smith-hosted client seminars and events. Responsibilities would include development of invitations and invite lists, coordinating with venues on logistics, coordinating speaker calls, and assisting with event materials, event promotion, and day-of event needs.Work closely with ENR attorneys and the BD Team on credentialling activities including assisting with client alerts, blog and Passle posts, curating content on the ENR LinkedIn Showcase page, and managing the Energy Explored Podcast.Assist with the development of group and strategy meeting agendas and presentations, and prepare and circulate meeting summaries.Help maintain industry group/specialty group intranet sites.All other duties as assigned.Job functions included are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Reed Smith reserves the right to revise or modify job functions at any time.RequirementsEducation: College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field desirable, but not required.Experience: 1-2 years experience in legal marketing required. The candidate must be able to demonstrate exceptional organizational and time management skills, strong writing ability, a positive attitude, and great work ethic.
