Objective

The Project Manager III is a highly experienced level position responsible for managing assigned project initiatives from inception to closure, following standard Project Management Methodologies. Serves as the Project Manager Office (PMO) ambassador to the business units. Leads by example in following the PMO project delivery process. Works closely with the Director of Project Manager in holding the project team accountable to processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Concurrently manages multiple complex projects through all phases of the project life cycle, using project management best practices to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and in a high-quality manner.
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans, status reports, and other related project documentation
  • Collaborates with Project Management team to identify project risks, develop and implement mitigation strategies
  • Partners with Sponsor and Project Stakeholders to establish Project Success Criteria and track and report on project successes
  • Creates project reporting such as project status reports and milestone reports
  • Clearly communicates the overall project deliverables and status to all project team members, both internal and external
  • Leverages strategic thinking skills and the ability to view and communicate the broader vision; proactively identifying potential cross impacts across the KEMBA portfolio of projects
  • Collaborates with project sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are in alignment with agreed upon project objectives and budget
  • Instinctively follows Project Management Best Practices and holds project team accountable to deliver on project assignments
  • Partners with project sponsor to actively manage and report on project budget
  • Mentors less experienced Project Managers
  • Serves as a back-up to the Director of Project Management as requested
  • Assists with creation of executive level project reporting
  • Participates in project scoping activities
  • Serves as PMO ambassador to the business units and IT
Required Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of project management experience, including Technology projects and Business projects
  • 7 years of Banking or Financial industry experience
  • 1 or more years of Credit Union experience preferred
  • 3 or more years previous mentoring experience
  • 3 or more years' experience soliciting, and documenting Business Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree or higher in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Process mapping experience
  • Demonstrated success in driving projects from inception to completion
  • Proven experience concurrently managing multiple projects across multiple Business Lines
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrixed environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment providing mentorship to others when appropriate
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and utilize negotiation and persuasion skills to effect change when appropriate
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and direction
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage projects with limited supervision
  • Understanding of standard Project Management fundamentals and methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile
  • 3rd party vendor management experience including participating in vendor selection and contract due diligence process
  • Experience with Testing Coordination
  • High level of competence with MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio
  • Organizational Change Management experience is a plus
