This position will primarily support regulatory compliance and risk assessment needs within the nuclear industry. Job Overview

As a Consulting Engineer with Jensen Hughes, you will join a dynamic team of nuclear consultants dispersed across the nation.

Additionally, as a part of Jensen Hughes' collaborative environment, you may have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research projects, such as developing new reactor PRA models, exploring advancements in human dependency research, and participating in software development initiatives.

Beyond technical responsibilities, you will also be expected to manage projects effectively, which includes developing proposals, allocating resources efficiently, and maintaining clear communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Your role will involve a variety of responsibilities tailored to your expertise and interests, including but not limited to:

Developing and maintaining PRA models for internal and external hazards (e.g., Fire, High Winds, Seismic PRA), with a focus on optimizing models for risk reduction and performance times.

Conducting human reliability analyses and evaluating dependencies within complex systems.

Performing accident analysis using specialized modeling codes such as MAAP.

Creating and updating Level II PRA models.

Generating calculations to support various PRA applications such as Mitigating Systems Performance Index (MSPI), Maintenance Rule, Risk-Informed Completion Time (RICT), Surveillance Frequency Control Program (SFCP), and 50.69 categorization.

Assisting utilities in navigating and complying with risk-informed regulatory requirements, including Regulatory Guides 1.200 and 1.174.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience is required.

Prior experience in PRA internal events, fire PRA, external hazards, risk-informed applications (e.g., RICT, 50.69), online risk tools, or related engineering-based projects is essential.

Strong communication and writing skills are a must, given the collaborative nature of our work and the need to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.

US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in nuclear power plant engineering, nuclear plant systems, licensing, operations, advanced nuclear technologies, or similar technical areas is highly desirable.

Project management skills, including the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently, would be advantageous in this role.
