Position Overview: As an Assistant Superintendent specializing in tenant improvement projects, you will work closely with the project superintendent to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities. From pre-construction to project closeout, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of commercial tenant improvement projects while adhering to strict quality standards, timelines, and budgets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project superintendent to plan and schedule construction activities, ensuring timely completion of tenant improvement projects.
  • Assist in the coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain efficient workflow and adherence to project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance, addressing any issues or concerns as they arise.
  • Assist in the management of project budgets, including tracking expenses, reviewing invoices, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and proper inventory management.
  • Support the superintendent in resolving construction-related challenges and conflicts, utilizing problem-solving skills and industry best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on tenant improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and regulations related to tenant improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office suite.
