The Department of Computer Science at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, a Catholic and Marianist university, invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track assistant/associate professor position in the Department of Computer Science beginning in the fall of 2024. St. Mary's University is designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). The department seeks faculty candidates with interests and expertise in cybersecurity (especially cyber policy and law, digital forensics, malware analysis, risk management, software security), and/or data science (artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, natural language processing), and/or other emerging areas in computer science. In addition, the candidate should have the ability to teach computer science courses across the department such as programming one (in C), data structures (in C), object oriented programming (in C++ and in Java), algorithms, systems analysis and design, architecture, database, and operating systems. This position requires a Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related discipline and a commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, research, program development and evaluation, teamwork, and service. ABD candidates will be considered.

The department ( ) offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Computer Science/Application Systems, and Computer Information Systems along with master's programs in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, and Cybersecurity. The department has four full-time faculty members and approximately 130 undergraduate and graduate students. The department is located within the School of Science, Engineering and Technology ( ).
