Veterinary Assistant

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and providing exceptional care to our furry patients. Salary: $21-25/hour depending on experience
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate nursing care to patients, assisting with diagnostic sample collection, catheter placement, venipuncture, radiography, dental radiology, and prophylactic cleanings.
- Support veterinarians during preventative, injury, and illness visits to ensure exceptional veterinary care.
- Advocate for patients and educate clients on proper animal care.
- Assist with patient procedures and surgeries, including anesthetic induction and monitoring, pre and post-operative care, and surgical suite maintenance.
- Obtain accurate health history from clients and maintain detailed electronic medical records.
- Mentor and support newer team members to foster a collaborative environment.
- Continuously advance your knowledgebase and skill set.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2 years of Professional experience in small animal clinical setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be physically able to lift and restrain pets and stand for extended periods.
- Positive attitude, patience, and ability to handle stress with calmness.
- Dedication to delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining a positive work environment.
