As the Residential Construction Operations Manager for SH Residential Holdings, you will be responsible for supporting the long-term enhancement of production, quality, and safety programs for the organization. Experience in purchasing, construction operations, and customer service is required. Additionally, the clear focus of this role will be on creating systems and processes that support business growth and performance through construction optimization and delivery.


This ideal incumbent will have experience influencing the cultures of organizations to reflect a continuous improvement mindset. Through the implementation and use of Value Engineering, Lean, financial, and project management tools, this role will be responsible for supporting a process-driven organization that utilizes strong process management, industry-proven construction management techniques, and quality management systems and processes.


Key Responsibilities:


Planning:


  • Assist with the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for ongoing monitoring and achievement of operational quality performance.
  • Implement immediate and long-term strategies for improved efficiency and reduced costs.
  • Take a leadership role in improving the knowledge, understanding, and application of construction practices to division operations personnel.


Financial:


  • Run reports and monitor KPI's and recommend improvement initiatives to management.
  • Monitor customer service feedback and recommend process improvements.
  • Implement and administer corporate operations policies, procedures, and initiatives.


Operational:


  • Conduct a range of trade-specific plan reviews and inspections on residential buildings as well as manage specific projects.
  • Create company-wide safety, quality, and customer service systems that allow the field teams to deliver a world-class customer experience.
  • Conduct field operations reviews including quality, safety, and job site management.
  • Assist with product development by reviewing current construction practices in the field and providing feedback to plan examiners, engineers, and divisional leadership.
  • Assist divisional teams with a geographic planned production system to improve resource utilization of trade partner crews and reduce cycle time.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience in a combination of purchasing and construction management roles overseeing multiple projects.
  • 10-plus years of progressive project responsibility on large complex projects.
  • Strong graphic design skills with a track record of building strong brands.
  • Extensive experience in/exposure to trade partner and construction superintendent management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively motivate and influence others.
  • Proven skills for developing teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to explain and interpret municipal and building codes, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive experience with quality systems and Lean building techniques.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, up to 70% travel.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Visio - Proven ability to map processes.
  • Experience with BuildPro is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills.
