Mary Kraft, an Imagine Company is recruiting for a Field Operations Manager on behalf of our a client, a leading general contractor and design builder. This is a Direct Hire opportunity in the Millersville, MD offering competitive pay of $150k-$175k a year with travel perks and an amazing benefits package!

As the operations manager you will assists with improving the project schedule while implementing Best Management Practices (BMP s). The Field Operations Manager must have the ability to audit a project, determine if we are on track to deliver on time, and work with the team to create a recovery plan in the event we are not. The Field Operations Manager must be willing to train field staff, give direction, and enforce policy and procedure. This role is not to simply report issues. This role is to help correct them, and train others to do the same.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Quality Control & Reporting - Monitor and ensure a quality product is delivered with utilization of HammerTech software, generate reports for each assigned project, and distribute to the Project Team and Executive Committee.

Project Challenges - Establish a proactive approach to avoid potential project issues. Effectively problem-solve issues by analyzing all situation aspects to reach final solutions. It is the responsibility of the Field Operations Manager to ensure project field success.

Cost Be cost conscious of costs on non-staff general conditions items.

Punch Lists - Assist with creating multiple pre-punch lists throughout the project and a fast-track completion of Architect / Owner generated punch lists.

Teaching - Mentor field staff on systems, controls, and general construction knowledge. Identify areas of weakness within each super and help them improve in those areas.

Schedule Review the project schedule. Look for opportunities for improvement and provide assistance in the preparation of the master schedule updates and look-ahead schedules.

Planning & Resolution - Be a resource for project planning. Participate in productive pre-construction hand-off meetings and trade pre-construction meetings (ex: site, concrete, steel, roofing).

Documentation - Utilize CMiC to access submittals, drawings, and other files to perform role and to ensure that the required daily, weekly, and monthly reports are being performed by the field staff.

Safety - Adhere to and enforce safety policy.

Relations - Develop and strengthen client and Subcontractor relations.

Warranty Claims Assist with research and fulfilment of warranty claims on projects.

Jobsite Coverage - Occasionally cover projects in the Superintendent's absence.

Jobsite Visits - Perform weekly job site visits (at minimum) or more if the project requires more attention.

Certifications - Manage necessary certifications for safety, first aid, and OHSA.

Liaison - Be a liaison between the field, office, and Executive Committee.

Requirements & Qualifications

Knowledge of public and construction safety and security issues and regulations.

Ability to analyze problems, interpret needs, and develop integrated, applicable solutions.

Ability to effectively communicate with all parties in written and oral form.

Ability to read, understand, and apply blueprints and job specifications.

Ability to mentor, train, and manage others.

Well-versed in software specific to job duties, including Hammertech, CMiC, Egnyte, MS Project, and MS Office, and the ability to learn new software.
