Reports To: Chief Engineer

BASIC FUNCTION:
DUTIES:
1 Maintaining clean work areas and equipment, clean machinery areas under the control of the Watchkeeping Engineer.
2 Assisting Engineers and Deck Engineer (where carried) during repairs and maintenance of equipment.
3 Performing other mechanical duties as directed by the Watchkeeping Engineer.
4 Performing emergency duties in accordance with the vessel s Muster List / Station Bill.
5 Ensuring that his daily activities and the activities of other crew members are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.
Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: The Motorman shall hold a USCG Merchant Mariner s Credential.
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as motorman, preferably on an offshore marine vessel; or recognized mechanical institution.
Skills: Able to speak and understand English.
Special Requirements: Additional requirements are contained the Vessel Qualifications & Training Matrix appropriate to each vessel.
Innovation: The Motorman has the authority to stop ANY activity on the grounds of immediate safety, health and environmental hazards.
Decision Making: The Motorman coordinates with any persons necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
