Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to oversee all aspects of our food manufacturing plant operations. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the plant, managing production schedules, optimizing production processes, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced production environment.


Location: Chicagoland, Illinois. Relocation assistance provided.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize plant performance, maximize productivity, and achieve production targets.
  • Production Management: Oversee all aspects of production, including scheduling, staffing, equipment maintenance, and quality control.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements through rigorous quality control measures.
  • Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Budget Management: Manage the plant budget effectively, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse team of production staff, providing coaching, training, and support to maximize their performance and development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including procurement, logistics, and quality assurance, to coordinate activities and achieve company goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and implementing best practices to enhance plant operations.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on plant performance, including production metrics, quality indicators, and budgetary analysis, to senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the food manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of production processes and quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in food manufacturing.
  • Experience with budget management and cost control measures.
