Claims Specialist

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Human Resources

  • Regular attendance, punctuality, physical on-site attendance (if applicable), adherence to the company s established policies and the team member handbook.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Claims Specialist provides administrative, and support related to the processing of Incident Management reports and insurance claims.

The role plays an active role in all phases of the incident management and claims process, from the initial intake or the report to closing.

Building relationships with the Refuel Team and outside agencies by phone and email is critical.

  • Review all new and in-process Zenput Incident Management reports as received.
  • Communicate (Call and email) to ensure all needed details are understood.
  • Work with store teams to support gathering needed information. Witness Statements, photos, video, etc.
  • Create and keep updated the Z: Incident Management Spreadsheet as new claims come in and daily as status changes are communicated.
  • Create and keep updated the Risk Management folders for each claim in the Z:
  • As requested from Law Enforcement or attorney, preserve incident video
  • Record Days Away from Work and Restricted Duty days for all OSHA recordable injuries and illnesses.
  • Update Medical Provider Panels
  • Role will be based in our corporate headquarters in the metro Charleston, SC area.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree preferred but not required. Related experience important
  • 2-3 years experience in claims processing, workers compensation, and insurance filings preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, and advanced Excel knowledge preferred.

Working environment and physical requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Travel: Must be able to travel up to 20%.
