We're searching for a **Prep Cook** to serve with our Operation Heal our Patriots project in **Port Alsworth, Alaska**. Operation Heal Our Patriotsgives wounded veterans and their spouses the opportunity for spiritual refreshment, physical renewal, and marriage enrichment. Couples participate in Biblically-based seminars that help strengthen their relationships with God and others and enjoy the beauty of Gods creation with outdoor activities at our Alaskan wilderness lodge.
**A day in the life of a Prep Cook:**
At Samaritans Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.
In the role of **Prep Cook**, you will have the opportunity to:
* Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
* Assist lead kitchen staff with meal preparation
* Basic knowledge of food preparation and customer service methods, principles, processes, materials, techniques, terminology, and equipment
* General knowledge of proper food storage and handling techniques as well as the quality, safety, and sanitary standards involved in food preparation
* All other duties as assigned

**Qualifications & Experience**:
* To perform this job successfully, an individual must **maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ,** as well as able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
* Previous experience in a food service setting.
* Dependable and shows attention to detail.
* Willingness to be adaptable and patient with changing demands.
* Demonstrated ability to serve humbly and kindly interact with guests/staff.

**Type:** Temporary Full time 6 months (May-October)
